Locked Down: Age Of Conan

Like many others I guess expecting a free trial is the norm these days but not for Age Of Conan. I cant speak for everyone but I don’t feel like spending out for 2 copies (1 for me and 1 for Kitn) just to find out that we don’t like it.
That being said should we need the free trials? I mean if a game offers so much content you just can’t wait to run out and buy it! However, this just hasn’t happened to me or Kitn on this game and we always go back to thinking of not wanting to waste money on something we’re not sure we’re gonna play for more than a week before the novelty wears off.
We were unable to get into the closed beta (although we did get email confirmation on some item thing if we were to play…) and can only go by what others have said. Luckily, I do have my sources and know people who were in and were quite happy with it, but they said that it also had its downsides (which i’m not going to get in to right now).
The question is: ‘Would you buy this or any other mmo without checking out a free trial or open beta?’
Not this Yeti & Kitn, unless its got something special!
