Kitn’s Ramblings – Argh!
Filed under BabblesWell, originally I was going to do an article about 5 moments in tv that I grew up to, but as I was doing the first one (Zack and Kelly from Saved By The Bell getting married) I ran into some annoyances that put me off writing it.
Mainly, it was that every single instance of the one moment I wanted to highlight about the tv special (the wedding song), had embedding disabled. I don’t know if this was some conspiracy amongst the video uploaders to annoy me by having to put up hyperlinks instead of Youtube video previews, or the station who owns the show’s rights making them do it, but it’s annoying to have to make people switch pages/tabs just to visualize the point your making or presenting (which in turn, still irritates me).
So either way, all you get is a rambling/rant and not the actual list I was intending on writing for the article… don’t ask about the other four moments because I hadn’t gotten around to thinking about them yet. I usually write spur-of-the-moment articles, so nothing’s ever thought out completely in its entirety for most blog posts.
And speaking of Youtube, its been increasingly frustrating for me lately. Like, this morning, I was trying to watch a few videos pertaining to the song from the ending credits to Ever After (a favorite movie of mine). It’s called Put Your Arms Around Me, but aggravatingly enough, most of the proper music videos aren’t accessible in my area (UK). What the hell?!
People use songs all the time in their little montages and music videos and yet Youtube denies me from actually wanting to listen and watch a proper version of the song (and thus discouraging me from getting the cd to support the artist)?!
Great, so first my MMOs restrict me with IP restrictions, and now Youtube feels it has to protect me from the rest of the world’s stuff.
Meh, it’s circumventions like this that make it hard on folks who legitimately are curious about products to get put off. No wonder pirates get love, at least they aren’t biased to people in certain regions.
