Pokemon are still a big thing.  I, personally, haven’t played the game since the first/second generation.  Two more generation of pokemon have appeared since.  Amazing how addicting those cute lil’ brawling monsters can be.  I reckon I’d get back into it if they’d just release an MMO of the Pokeworld and get it over with, because we all know that as much as we love playing as orcs and elves, we’d much rather be yelling at pikachus to fight till unconsciousness for us.  That.. or get to releasing another Pokemon Snap game, that’ll keep me happy.

Anyhoo, from this babbling nonsense, I ended up with an idea:  “What If Video Game Characters Had Pokemon?” (Made for a catchy title too)  So I went about searching and found five (so far…) pair ups that at least looked like they’d get along well.

Check it out ^^

Zombie Kitteh!

Just a small post to assure you that I haven’t gone to the great Kitty Litter in the sky, I’ve just been out of ideas as to what to write.  I mean, there’s plenty of stuff to write about, but my mind works in mysterious ocd-ish type ways and I haven’t been able to get out of the slump that is having to deal with organizing my thoughts, pictures, and words into a coherent article.

But hey!  Lucky you gets a scribble out of me.  Just a quick one.  I’m really rusty.  But congrats, I haven’t sketched in a while.

Kitn wanted a simple addon for her warlock and just wasn’t happy with the ones on offer to download.  So, Yeti to the rescue with he code cap on! I whipped up a small addon for her that lets her set how many Soul Shards to keep in her inventory with it tossing away any extra that might fill up her precious bag space! and the feature she really wanted was to be able to throw away a shard with a simple click of the mouse to make some more space.

And this was the result.

Shardkeeper It’s just a small simple icon that you can move where you want and if you right click it, it throws away 1 shard.

If it sounds like something you would like to try and then head on over to WoW Interface for the download.

Enjoy!

It’s funny really, this program was just a little something I whipped up for Kitn to help her keep track of her WoW addons, yet it has managed to get a very small number of users.  By small we are only talking around 300 combined downloads, but that is a lot more than I thought would ever use it!

Just this morning a passer by left a comment for a request, who was very polite.  It would have been rude not to try and fill it so off I went on a coding spree to get the program going again (I had formatted my computer without backing up the source, even when Kitn reminded me to…).  Luckily for me I posted the source for all to see which made it very quick to get the program back up and running to how it was.

Now, on to the update.  The original request was more of a two parter but I was only able to fill half of the request in such a short time.  Thus, we have the new feature of exporting a list of all your addons, either to a text file or to a CSV file (comma separated values which you can open in a spreadsheet application like Microsoft Excel).

Unfortunately some addon authors put colouring code in their titles and version numbers which makes the raw data look horrid, and until I can figure a way of filtering it out I’ve tried to keep it all as tidy as possible.

Anyways, for those of you that use it, I hope you like the new feature, which you can also thank our commenter Jeania for, who requested it.

You can download Addon Versions over at WoWInterface.

Well, I did! I’d start off really well, have a few good posts to knock off, and then the motivation dies.  That, or I just don’t have the right pictures to go with my jarbled thoughts (I get very specific about having something visual to go with whatever I’m spouting off on at the time).

Ah well, don’t worry, I’m sure I’ll get on with the articles as soon as they get thought up (or until I put down the Class of Heroes game I’ve been playing lately).

Till then, you can always show some love or suggestions for stuff you wanna read about by commenting ^^

Hey hey, here’s another edition of Perk Your Ears to get you caught up on some of the music we find interesting, amusing, or just downright awesome.

This happy, peppy number comes from a group called Team Nekokan that’s got super cute style and animation to add to its all-around spiffiness.  Give it a listen and keep those ears perked for the next installment of Perk Your Ears!!

I was doing my daily look-see around the interwebs when over at Geeky Gadgets I saw a toy of Devastator from Transformers that looked a little different than the movie version.  Now to be honest, I wouldn’t have noticed if the people of the internet hadn’t made a big deal out of it, but the poor fella seems to be missing some of his vital anatomy.

Check out the picture to see for yourself!

Code corner has been rather quiet lately, so today I am going to share one of my favorite scripts.

On a day-to-day basis I get many people asking for me to reset their passwords which can get rather tedious,  to say the least, so I wrote this script which will reset a user account in a specific OU and force a password change on login.

If you want to use this script just change the OU and Domain to match your own, and of course the password you want it to be reset to.

The script also prompts you to confirm who you want to reset by showing the users full name (pulled from AD)

Copy and paste or hit up the download link below.

on error resume next
User = Inputbox("Enter Username")

Set objUser = GetObject("LDAP://cn=" & User & ",ou=Users,dc=AD_DOMAIN")
if err.number <> 0 Then
msgbox "User Not Found"
wscript.quit 0
else
Result = msgbox("Reset " & objUser.Fullname & "'s Password?", vbyesno)
If Result = vbno then wscript.quit 0
objUser.SetPassword("12345678")
objUser.Put "PwdLastSet", 0
objUser.SetInfo
msgbox "Password Reset"
wscript.quit 0
end if

Set objUser = Nothing

Its taken a while and I thought it was going to take on Blizzard’s very own trademark of “Coming Soon” … but it’s done!

For the full info head over to its main page, but for now here is a breakdown of what’s new:

- Skins have now been implemented
- Auto Hide function has been implemented
- Changed the way the slash command /ykt functions to force hide
- Added auto hide to all battlegrounds (not just wintergrasp)

Along with a few minor bugs and tweaks, that’s pretty much everything.  To see some pictures of some of the new skins head on over to the YKTarget page where you can also download it, if you wish.

Hope everyone likes the new version and finds it useful!  Happy targeting! :D

WYWR So, we had a comment on our M.I.A. thread asking if we’d blog about the real world.  Now, I don’t know, our life is pretty mundane, but Yeti and I thought it’d be a neat idea to just gather up some of the past news to get gamers caught up on random things happening in the world, as well as just random interesting stuff we didn’t feel like writing giant articles about, but that still intrigued us, nonetheless.

Welcome to While You Were Raiding!
