Well, another day being trapped by the ice hill from hell.  Ah well, all that’s fun and snowy ends, since the temperature has been steadily climbing, I’ll no doubt be back at work by tomorrow.  But till then, I managed to do another sketch and color of the promised Disney girl.  If you recognize the post title or have kept up from the previous post, you’ll know just who it is I drew today.

So, me and the Yeti got snowed in out of work today (basically, our car would’ve been playing bumper cars with the other parked ones if we actually got it to move).  Seeing as we were going nowhere, I actually had the urge to do another Disney Princess sketch.  Another favorite, moreso than Ariel, is Belle from Beauty and the Beast.

When I was a kid, I adored how headstrong and smart she was, and how she loved books, just like I did.  I had even read the Disney book of Beauty and the Beast before I had watched the movie (and at seven, I still bawled my eyes out at both reading and watching the ending bit… gah, such a romantic).  I watched the movie so much (when I eventually got the VHS of it) that I could literally recite all of Belle’s lines as I watched the movie.  I know… so sad.

Anyhoo, on to the drawing!

So, I got an awesome Christmas present to help me get try to get back into drawing.  As an added bonus, I went splurge crazy with my Christmas money and bought a few art books to try to supplement me getting back into the art habit.  One of the books I happened to pick up was this:

It’s a gorgeous book (that I highly recommend to purchase) of different artists’ take on the Disney Princesses (another self-confession of girly-ism from me, I still adore some Disney Princesses).  This book gave me some inspiration to just start out on some simple sketches, and instead of trying to wrack my brain for a completely new image, I’d start out simple and just do renditions of characters I like.  So, here’s my first entry into getting back into art, inspired by the art from the aforementioned book.

First off, I would like to share my newest little creation named HammerTime.  It’s a nice little simple addon for those fury warriors out there who, like me, keep missing that darned instant slam buff.  Well, not any longer! If, like me, a bright visual aid is more noticeable than a little icon/bar in the corner of your screen.  Check this out:

The addon is totally click-through, so it wont get in the way.  It’s also simple to configure; (/ht unlock to unlock and /ht lock to lock) once unlocked you can move and scale the message to your liking!

You can check HammerTime out for yourself by downloading it at WoW Interface.

So, on to YKTarget, no huge changes here.  Just the fact that someone was kind enough to let me know that all party members can now mark targets, so the addon will now show even if you are not the leader.  I have also added Isle of Conquest to the list of battlegrounds (I know, a bit slow on that one).  As per normal you can download YKTarget at WoW Interface

I’ve been wanting to try 3D modelling out for a while and have had a little bash a few times.  This time I stuck to my guns and finally created something.  Yeah, ok, so it’s a spoon, not the best spoon in the world either, but none the less it’s my first 3D model made from scratch and I thought it came out pretty well.

My aim is to eventually get some more detailed models in the works and take scenes from games, but give them a huge poly count for scene rendering.

Oh, and learn the deal on texturing… I know my spoon looks more plastic than metallic.  It’s on my list of things to do!
