Hurray, Finished Another Drawing!
Filed under Digital ArtSo, me and the Yeti got snowed in out of work today (basically, our car would’ve been playing bumper cars with the other parked ones if we actually got it to move). Seeing as we were going nowhere, I actually had the urge to do another Disney Princess sketch. Another favorite, moreso than Ariel, is Belle from Beauty and the Beast.
When I was a kid, I adored how headstrong and smart she was, and how she loved books, just like I did. I had even read the Disney book of Beauty and the Beast before I had watched the movie (and at seven, I still bawled my eyes out at both reading and watching the ending bit… gah, such a romantic). I watched the movie so much (when I eventually got the VHS of it) that I could literally recite all of Belle’s lines as I watched the movie. I know… so sad.
Anyhoo, on to the drawing!

I chose Belle in her blue dress since you see tons of chibis of her in her gold ballgown. Truth be told, I actually prefer her in her snow dress (even if it is pink…) and I’m kicking myself, now, because I didn’t think of drawing her in it. Ah well, the hood would’ve killed me trying to get that right…
The hardest part about this was actually figuring out her hair. That was the longest bit about this drawing, and in the end, I am extremely happy with how it turned out. I was worried it wasn’t going to look like her, but she looks pretty spiffy. I kept the same style as Ariel, since I intend on making a series of these, using Ariel as a template to try and keep the sizing right.
So, who’s next on the list? I know she’s not a Princess, but I like to think she is at times. The girl very near and dear to my heart, just below Belle, is Mulan. Her kimono is going to be a pain, as much as her hair, but let’s hope I do the girl some justice.
Now that I think about it, who knows, maybe I’ll do some of my favorite game characters after I get through with Disney, or in between Princesses. Ah! Motivation… it’s nice seeing you again.

Another great one Melody. There must be someone who can use a talented graphic artist like you. These are professional drawings to my opinion. I will follow these series.
Oh and maybe we’ll see a theme with them someday?
I was tossing around the idea of making a theme around them. I’ll have to do a few more in the series just so I can cover all the screens. Thanks for the encouragement ^^
