Well, another day being trapped by the ice hill from hell.  Ah well, all that’s fun and snowy ends, since the temperature has been steadily climbing, I’ll no doubt be back at work by tomorrow.  But till then, I managed to do another sketch and color of the promised Disney girl.  If you recognize the post title or have kept up from the previous post, you’ll know just who it is I drew today.

(Get used to seeing the watermarks, gotta try to keep the kleptos away!)
(Once more: “No Grabby Grabby!”)

It’s Mulan, the non-princess battle-princess of Chinese lore.  She was a favorite of mine at the time she came out simply because I had the same anxieties as she did.  Not knowing my place, who I was, and not fitting the image of the complacent daughter that I thought I was supposed to be.  Not to mention, in the end, she was an ass kicking fighter.  Very spiffy to see on screen when previous princesses never even so much as held an actual weapon.

Ironically, this felt a bit tougher than doing Belle yesterday.  There isn’t anything particularly complicated about Mulan, her attire is quite simple, which is why it was probably more difficult for me.  There are no details to cover up any screw ups.  What you see is what you get, and that scared me when doing her picture.  Still, I think she came out well, and even if she’s not as recognizable as the others, she’s not too far fetched.

We’ll see what the next day’s art brings!

Well she looks more simple then the others, but I doubt that it’s not so easy to draw. Looking great again.
A question I keep forgetting to ask. Are these hand drawn or with a PC tablet?

I use a tablet (you can see the lines are pretty shaky *blush*), which was a most awesome Christmas present to me by the Yeti!

Ha, I thought so. It’s more obvious in this drawing then in the others. Still, love the style you showoff with these drawings. ;)
