First off, I would like to share my newest little creation named HammerTime.  It’s a nice little simple addon for those fury warriors out there who, like me, keep missing that darned instant slam buff.  Well, not any longer! If, like me, a bright visual aid is more noticeable than a little icon/bar in the corner of your screen.  Check this out:

The addon is totally click-through, so it wont get in the way.  It’s also simple to configure; (/ht unlock to unlock and /ht lock to lock) once unlocked you can move and scale the message to your liking!

You can check HammerTime out for yourself by downloading it at WoW Interface.

So, on to YKTarget, no huge changes here.  Just the fact that someone was kind enough to let me know that all party members can now mark targets, so the addon will now show even if you are not the leader.  I have also added Isle of Conquest to the list of battlegrounds (I know, a bit slow on that one).  As per normal you can download YKTarget at WoW Interface

Were you tempted to try Aion ? I was! I loaded up my pre-order special edition and was all ready to rock when the headstart gave way.  I did manage to get on when it opened up, but today I get to see the horror that others have been talking about.  I got home around 7pm-ish to be welcomed with the following after logging in…

Aion0000

Now I’m a reasonably patient guy, but where do you draw the line!? 7pm + 5 hours = zzZ zzZ.  Some of us do actually need to work in order to pay for our gaming habits, and starting off a gaming session at midnight isn’t quite the best time of the day for most people.

I can only hope that this is just a teething problem.  Quoting from NCSoft “Total server limits will be increased once we see that server populations balance out.” I hope that limit is in the 1000’s as my queue isn’t the largest I’ve seen kicking around fan sites today.

Some people have shown their disgust on the official forums mentioning cancelling already.  As extreme as this may seem, I too can see the reasoning for giving it the boot, especially if I can only play from midnight onwards.  Time can only tell.

Do you have long wait times ?  How do you pass the time ?

(Btw, the other fubar NCSoft/Steam had was that I didn’t have time to go out and pre-order the Collector’s Edition from a store, so I thought of getting it online through Steam.  Turns out, they can’t even give out the proper codes/extra online goodies till after the game has launched.  Headstart my arse…)

YKTarget
Just a lil note to let people out there that we have updated YKTarget.

Not a huge update, just some bug fixes and making sure everything is all good for patch 3.2.

As usual you can download from the YKTarget page or over at WoW Interface.

Enjoy! :)

Pokemon are still a big thing.  I, personally, haven’t played the game since the first/second generation.  Two more generation of pokemon have appeared since.  Amazing how addicting those cute lil’ brawling monsters can be.  I reckon I’d get back into it if they’d just release an MMO of the Pokeworld and get it over with, because we all know that as much as we love playing as orcs and elves, we’d much rather be yelling at pikachus to fight till unconsciousness for us.  That.. or get to releasing another Pokemon Snap game, that’ll keep me happy.

Anyhoo, from this babbling nonsense, I ended up with an idea:  “What If Video Game Characters Had Pokemon?” (Made for a catchy title too)  So I went about searching and found five (so far…) pair ups that at least looked like they’d get along well.

Check it out ^^

Thumbnail So, I happened to come across this game, and the idea of it is simply fascinating.  A star sweeper has crashed and needs more star powder to re-power up his rocket, giving you control over his little star finder helper (a little robot) if you’ll give him a hand.  Apparently, wi-fi hotspots have the same frequency as star powder, so you’re asked to find as many to help the old sweep get going again.  In exchange, you can use the powder to buy treasures, as well as find treasures within the wi-fi hotspots themselves.

So, perusing through some new DS games about to be released, I happened another monstrosity in marketing.  Sad to say, this time, it isn’t a US cover art being butchered, but an EU one instead!

Check out the tragedy here:

So I came across the box art for a 505 Game that was recently released.  505 Games are one of the developers of ‘girly’ DS games that I give credit to for at least giving their lineups more than just pretty pictures and fractured gameplay.  But someone in marketing clearly thinks that the horrendous Ubisoft box art for their US releases are somehow worth imitating in order to generate sales, and I totally disagree with that tactic.

To keep today from being entirely barren of blogs (hey, it’s the Yeti’s b-day tomorrow, we’re entitled to being lazy and spending the free time together), here’s a Disturbing Realization Of The Day!

TH Alright, so Final Fantasy XIV was announced, and it’s another MMO.  Me and the Yeti have been looking for a different escape from WoW, and this could be just the ticket we were looking for.  I mean, hey… we met on FFXI, and we’ve had our fond share of memories about that game, but there’s no denying that in order for us to really want to give it a good go, there’s a couple of things we’re looking forward to in terms of changes.

E3 FFXIV Trailer

If you haven’t seen it already, this is the E3 trailer they ended up showing.  I still believe it’s basically FFXI-2.  The hume looks the same, but they tossed in both an elvaan and a galka on the side (although it’s strangely a tail-less galka).  Not to mention the trailer does say “…you must join hands… once again.”  That just screams ‘sequel’ in itself.

So allow me to indulge in some old FFXI memories and what I hope to see changed with the upcoming XIV.

E3As always at this time of the year every man and his dog are talking about E3, the time when we get news of upcoming goodies to our favorite platforms and usually the time the Kitn reminds me how she misses the swag bags she would loot when she was able to go (still super jealous I never got to go!).

Kitn: “Hey, it was awesome loot!”

I know it’s all still going on, but I’ve yet to see anything of major interest come out of all the hustle and bustle.  The new PSP was just not impressive to me at all, sure it’s all new and digital only, but theres not enough of anything new to make me want to get one, it looks just as hand crampy as earlier versions.

Microsoft seem to be joining the ranks of people who seems to give somewhat strange names to things when they introduced the Natal… Yes that’s right, Natal.  I bet just like the Kitn and I you said it wrong too!  Apparently your supposed to say it all posh like Nat-al.  Somehow I don’t see kids going in to Gamestop and asking for it all posh like and will give the good ol Natal pronounciation as if they were into child birth.

Let’s hope that something more exciting comes out of what’s left of E3 this year! Maybe I’ve been spoilt over the years and have just hit that level of expectancy… either way I wants new shiny things people! Get to workin’!
